Adhi sEshan serves <a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u00a0by facilitating\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u2018s yOga nidhrA (constant meditation by <a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u00a0to uplift the samsAris).<\/li>\n<li>In thrEthA yugam, when\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> appears as SrI rAma, Adhi sEshan appears as lakshmaNan. iLaya perumAL (lakshmaNa) accompanied SrI rAma and sIthA pirAtti and constantly served them.<\/li>\n<li>In dhvApara yugam, when\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u00a0appears as krishNa, Adhi sEshan appears as balarAman. balarAman being the elder brother of krishNa, constantly took care of krishNa during his child hood pastimes in vrindhAvan.<\/li>\n<li>In kali yugam, Adhi sEshan appears as bhavishyadhAchAryan (<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr \u2013 SrI rAmAnuja<\/a>).\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u2018s archAvathAram is the pinnacle of his various forms of <a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs&#8217;<\/a>\u00a0dhivya prabhandhams are the pinnacle of various pramANams.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u00a0appeared and firmly established the glories of archAvathAram in dhivya dhEsams and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs&#8217;<\/a>\u00a0dhivya prabhandhams. Because of these bhAgavathas, the ignorance in the mind of people is vanquished. Since the ignorance is gone, there is no work for yama and his servants who punish the ignorants at hellish regions. The underlying reason which is the defects of kali yugam is also gone. He is declared by <a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/01\/alavandhar\">yAmunAchArya (ALavandhAr)<\/a>\u00a0as kula pathi (the leader of vaishNava clan). \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0appeared in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\/\">AzhwAr thirunagari<\/a>\u00a0as the son of kAri and udaya nangai. They named him kArimARan. When kArimARan was a toddler, he was not eating anything. His parents brought him to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">Adhi nAthan<\/a>\u00a0temple in AzhwAr thirungari and placed AzhwAr in front of perumAL. AzhwAr quickly crawled from there and reached the divine tamarind tree nearby and settled in the hole in the tree and started meditating on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>. He never spoke to anyone since that time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Image-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12096 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Image-3-300x143.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"453\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Image-3-300x143.jpg 300w, https:\/\/koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Image-3.jpg 575w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 453px) 100vw, 453px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">nammAzhwAr \u2013 madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/p>\n<p>Years later, when\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0was in ayOdhyA, he noticed a shining light down south. He followed the light and finally reached AzhwAr thirungari. He located <a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0in the tamarind tree and after understanding\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>\u2018s glories, became a dear disciple of nammAzhwAr and spent his time serving him.<\/p>\n<p>When\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> was about to ascend to paramapadham, <a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0requests for an archA vigraham from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0instructs <a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0to boil the water from thamirabharaNi river to acquire an archA vigraham.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0obliges and boils the water from the river. As a result, he gets an archA vigraham with anjali mudhrai and thridhaNdam (the 3 sticks that are carried by sannyAsis).\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a>, being surprised, says to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> \u201dI was expecting a vigraham with upadhEsa mudhrai, but we now have a vigraham with anjali mudhrai and thridhaNdam. Who is this divine person?\u201d and <a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0replies \u201cThis is the AchAryan who will appear in the future for the upliftment of entire world. You preserve\/worship this vigraham for the future. You continue to boil the water again to get my archA vigraham\u201d.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0again boils the water and subsequently acquires the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0archA vigraham that is worshipped in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\/\">AzhwAr thirunagari<\/a>. The bhavishyadhAchAryan vigraham was buried under the divine tamarind tree by madhurakavi AzhwAr at that time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Image-4-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12097 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Image-4-1-300x139.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"447\" height=\"207\" srcset=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Image-4-1-300x139.jpg 300w, https:\/\/koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Image-4-1-768x356.jpg 768w, https:\/\/koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Image-4-1.jpg 839w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 447px) 100vw, 447px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">emperumAnAr \u2013 thiruvAimozhi piLLai \u2013 mAmunigaL<\/p>\n<p>This bhavishyadhAchAryan vigraham was subsequently located by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/19\/thiruvaimozhi-pillai\/\">thiruvAimozhi piLLai<\/a>\u00a0who resurrected\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\/\">AzhwAr thirunagari<\/a> town and re-established the temple norms. The whole town was vacated by SrIvaishNavas during the time of islamic invaders targetting many temples. <a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>\u2018s archA vigraham was carried to safe locations in kEraLA and stayed there. When\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/19\/thiruvaimozhi-pillai\/\">thiruvAimozhi piLLai<\/a>\u00a0helped bring back\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\/\">AzhwAr thirunagari<\/a>, he cleared the forested area, excavated the temple and re-builds the same. At that time, thiruvAimozhi piLLai finds the bhavishyadhAchAryan vigraham also. He builds a separate temple for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">bhavishyadhAchAryan (emperumAnAr)<\/a>\u00a0in the western part of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\/\">AzhwAr thirunagari<\/a>\u00a0and also builds a chathur vEdhi mangalam (4 streets) around the temple. 11 families were identified and given the kainkaryam of participating and helping in this temple kainkaryams.<\/p>\n<p>thiruvEngadamudaiyAn speaks through his archakar (priest) and orders that the thirumalai jIyar swamy goes to <a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\/\">AzhwAr thirunagari<\/a>\u00a0bhavishyadhAchAryan sannidhi, stays there and lead the kainkaryams at the temple and participate in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">Adhi nAthan<\/a>\/<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0temple kainkaryams too.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/23\/azhagiya-manavala-mamunigal\/\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>, who is\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u00a0himself, appears in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\/\">AzhwAr thirunagari<\/a>. He eventually becomes a disciple of thiruvAimozhi piLLai.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/23\/azhagiya-manavala-mamunigal\/\">mAmunigaL<\/a>\u00a0himself worshipped\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> in this bhavishyadhAchAryan sannidhi and compiled yathirAja vimsathi (divine 20 slOkams in full glorification of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a>) during his times here. \u00a0Due to his great attachment towards\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>, he comes to be called as yathIndhra pravaNar. Just like SrI rAma himself worshipped periya perumAL (SrIman nArAyaNan) in his thiruvArAdhanam, mAmunigaL himself worshipped emperumAnAr to demonstrate how he should be worshipped. It is stated in the vAzhi thirunAmam (glorificatory verses) of 7th pattam jIyar (sadagOpa rAmAnuja jIyar) that azhagiya maNavALa mAmunivan accepted sannyAsasramam from him.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, this\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\/\">AzhwAr thirunagari<\/a>\u00a0is greatly significant for it being the birth place of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u00a0(bhavishyadhAchAryan) and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/23\/azhagiya-manavala-mamunigal\/\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>. This bhavishyadhAchAryan sannidhi is also of great significance, since the bhavishyadhAchAryan archA vigraham is as ancient as\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0himself and appeared even before the appearance of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>\u2018s archA vigraham.<\/p>\n<p>Since the first jIyar who arrived from thirumalai, there have been 41 jIyars (including first jIyar) as on date. This bhavishyadhAchAryan temple is under the control of the jIyar swamy of the \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u00a0jIyar mutt who is the heriditary trustee for this temple. This temple\u00a0is locally called affectionately as \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">udayavar<\/a> kOyil\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a>\u2018s temple). Currently, SrImath paramahamsa ithyAdhi ranga rAmAnuja jIyar is the AchAryan in the mutt. During the time of previous jIyar swamy, SrImath paramahamsa ithyAdhi dhEvarAja rAmAnuja jIyar, the temple and mutt underwent a grand\/full samprOkshaNam after a very long time. The whole temple and mutt acquired a grand new look while preserving the ancient ambience.
