It can also be said that it is named after\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god.html\">bhagavAn<\/a>\u00a0himself who is the thiru (wealth) of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">srI mahAlakshmi<\/a>\u00a0herself as\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\">thirumangai AzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0says \u201c<em>thiruvukkum thiruvAgiya selvA<\/em>\u201d (emperumAn who is the wealth of SrI mahAlakshmi who is generally glorified as divine wealth).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image2-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12271 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image2-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image3-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12272 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image3-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"215\" \/><\/a>This dhivya dhEsam is under the control of thiruppathi periya kELvi appan jIyar swamy. thiruppathi jIyar swamy visits this dhivya dhEsam during uthsavams and special occassions and performs mangaLAsAsanam to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u00a0here.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u00a0appears as bhakthavathsalan (paththarAvi in thamizh) in this dhivya dhEsam. One of the most important qualities of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god.html\">bhagavAn<\/a>\u00a0is vAthsalyam (motherly affection and forbearance). In this dhivya dhEsam,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god.html\">bhagavAn<\/a>\u00a0is blessing us as vAthsalyam personified.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">thAyAr<\/a>\u00a0is known as mathsavithri (ennai peRRa thAyAr) \u2013 meaning \u201cmy mother\u201d. thAyAr is glorified as purushAkAra bhUthai (recommendation authority) waiting to help all\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i5631.html\">jIvAthmA<\/a>s approach emperumAn easily. When\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i5631.html\">jIvAthmA<\/a>s hesitate to approach\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u00a0fearing due to the unlimited sins that are committed by them, it is\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">thAyAr<\/a>\u00a0who encourages the jIvAthmA to approach emperumAn citing his vAthsalyam and recommends to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u00a0to accept them purely based on the act of approaching\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.com\/2013\/03\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god.html\">bhagavAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A separate sannidhi for SrI rAma with sIthA pirAtti and SrI lakshmaNa also exist on the banks of the near by lake. During bramOthsavam thIrthavAri bhakthavathsala perumAL visits this temple and enjoys thirumanjanam in the maNdapam there.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\">thirumangai AzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0is the one who sung most\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/p\/archavathara-anubhavam.html\">archAvathAra emperumAn<\/a>s. It is because of his great attachment towards\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/p\/archavathara-anubhavam.html\">archAvathAra emperumAn<\/a>s, he visited many emperumAns, performed mangaLAsAsanam and thus lead to these kshEthrams being glorified as dhivya dhEsams. He has performed mangaLAsAsanam for thiruninRavUr bhakthavathasalan emperumAn in his periya thirumozhi in two pAsurams.<\/p>\n<p>Legends also state that\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2013\/03\/29\/mudhaliyandan\/\">mudhaliyANdAn<\/a>\u2018s parents anantha nArAyaNa dhIkshitha and bhUmi pirAtti were travelling to thirumalai (thirupathi) to pray to thiruvEngadamudaiyAn to bless them with a child. On the way, they stay at thiruninRavUr for a night. At that time, SrI rAma appears in their dream and tells them he himself will be born as their child and will eventually assist <a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a> (who is born in SrIperumbUthUr) to uplift the entire world. Soon after, on chithrai punarpUsam, bhUmi pirAtti gives birth to a divine child who is named dhAsarathi who goes on to become the dear disciple of <a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u00a0and popularly known as\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2013\/03\/29\/mudhaliyandan\/\">mudhaliyANdAn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a
